Short description: PUB AID-TANF WORK REQUIREMENTS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code containing the education, training, and employment component for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. Adds the following persons as exempt from the TANF work requirement: (1) a person who is ill, incapacitated, or deemed to be disabled; (2) a child who is under 16 years of age or under the age of 19 and attending a secondary, vocational, or technical school full-time; (3) a person whose presence in the home is required because of the illness or incapacity of another member of the household; and (4) certain late-term pregnant women. Provides that the Department shall make a determination, based on medical documentation or a referral to a physician, as to whether an applicant for or recipient of benefits is exempt from participating in the work program due to disability, is work-limited, or is required to participate in the work component. Provides for the right to appeal the Department's determination and for sanctions for an applicant or recipient's intentional misrepresentation of his or her condition. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: 305 ILCS 5/9A-4.5 Deletes everything.
