Short description: DENTL CARE PATIENT PROTECT ACT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Creates the Dental Care Patient Protection Act. Provides for the regulation of dental managed care plans by the Department of Insurance and the Department of Public Health. Establishes requirements for disclosure to enrollees. Establishes credentialing and utilization review standards. Requires certain plans to include a point-of-service option. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes a provision excluding the State employee dental plan from the scope of the Act. Deletes a Section providing that the Act does not create a private cause of action or create a standard of care. FISCAL NOTE (Department of Insurance) There could be a fiscal impact of $70,000.
