Short description: LOCKSMITH-EXEMPTIONS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, and Locksmith Act of 1993. Provides that the police officers, fire- fighters, or other municipal employees may open a lock in a life-threatening situation or when the location of a vehicle creates a danger to the public. Effective immediately. STATE MANDATES NOTE (Dept. of Commerce and Community Affairs) Does not create a State mandate. HOME RULE NOTE (Department of Commerce and Community Affairs) Does not preempt home rule powers. HOUSING AFFORDABILITY NOTE (Housing Development Authority) No fiscal effect on a single-family residence.
