House Sponsors: LANG-GASH. Short description: CONSUMR CONTRCT PLAIN LANGUAGE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Creates the Consumer Contract Plain Language Act. Provides that consumer contracts involving $100,000 or less must be clear, readable, and informative. Authorizes the Attorney General to bring an action to restrain the use of a consumer contract that violates the Act. Effective January 1, 2001. FISCAL NOTE (Attorney General) There would be no fiscal impact; any additional duties would be absorbed by existing resources.
