Short description: CITIZENS CRIME COMMISSION Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Department of State Police provisions of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois to create a Citizens Crime Commission to advise the General Assembly on crime legislation that shall consist of 10 members appointed by the Governor with 2 co-chairpersons to be designated by the Governor. The appointments shall be made by January 1, 2000, for 2 year terms, at the expiration of which the Commission is abolished. Provides for reimbursement for necessary expenses for members. This provision is repealed on January 1, 2002. Effective immediately. FISCAL NOTE (Illinois State Police) State Police administration cost would be $50,000.
