DAVIS,STEVE-GRANBERG-HOLBROOK AND NOVAK. (JACOBS) 235 ILCS 5/6-9.1 new Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Provides that a distributor of wine or spirits shall deliver to any retail establishment within the geographic area in which the distributor permits the sale of its trade mark, brand, or name at wholesale at least once every 2 weeks if the retailer agrees to purchase at least $50 of wine or spirits from the distributor every 2 weeks. FISCAL NOTE (Liquor Control Commission) HB137 will have no fiscal impact; the provisions will become part of current processes or systems. STATE MANDATES NOTE (Dept. of Commerce and Community Affairs) Does not create a State mandate. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Further amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Provides that a distributor of wine or spirits shall deliver to any retailer within any geographic area in which that distributor has been granted by a wholesaler (now has granted to a wholesaler) the right to sell its trade mark, brand, or name under certain circumstances. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Further amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Deletes provisions authorizing a retailer to designate an alternative delivery site. Provides that in a county with a population of at least 3,000,000 inhabitants or in a county that is adjacent to a county with at least 3,000,000 inhabitants, a distributor shall be required to deliver wine or spirits to a retail establishment if the retailer agrees to purchase at least $200 of wine or spirits from the distributor every 2 weeks.
