91_SR0474 LRB9115247KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 3 to learn of the death of Verda Mae Cummings, who recently 4 passed away; and 5 WHEREAS, Verda Mae Cummings was born in Verona, 6 Mississippi on March 31, 1942; her parents were Thomas and 7 Ruth; and 8 WHEREAS, The passing of Verda Mae Cummings will be deeply 9 felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her sons, Tony 10 (wife, Bernadette), Trell (wife, Valarie), Lee, Terry, David 11 (wife, Felecia), Darcel, and Christopher; her daughters, 12 Layner Hester, Sonya Gillespie (husband, Roosevelt), Daneil 13 Walton (husband, Jules), Stephanie Gartley (husband, Henry), 14 Michele Cummings, and Andreana Cummings; her sisters, 15 Virginia Jack-Jacox, Sadie Leslie (husband, Danny), Savannah 16 Beeson (husband, Edward), Mary White, Martha White, Melissa 17 White, Yvette White, and Marilyn Walker (husband, Robert);her 18 brothers, Noah, Jr., James (wife, Peggy), John (wife, 19 Roxanne), Timothy (wife, Anna), Haven (wife, Deirdra), Jasper 20 White, Genoris Dunbar (wife, Sheila), James Dunbar (wife, 21 Eva), and Sonny Winston (wife, Donna); her grandmother, 22 Lottie Tilton; her aunt, Pearl White (husband, Robert); her 23 uncle, Melvin Hester (wife, Rosenna); her mother-in-law, 24 Dorothy Cummings; her sisters-in-law, Rosalee Hoskins and 25 Doris Hampton (husband, Rufus); her cousin, Peggy Jean Berry; 26 her 42 grandchildren; her 8 great-grandchildren; her 27 god-daughters, Sharon Peeples and Denise Jones; and many 28 nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it 29 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 30 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 31 of Verda Mae Cummings; and be it further 32 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be -2- LRB9115247KBkb 1 presented to the family of Verda Mae Cummings.
