1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of George Moll, who passed away on November 1, 2000; and
5 WHEREAS, George Moll served as mayor of Herrick since May
6 1996; and
7 WHEREAS, George Moll was born March 24, 1941, in Shelby
8 County, to Homer and Wavel Moll; and
9 WHEREAS, George Moll served as trustee at least three
10 times on the Herrick village board, beginning in the 1970's;
11 he had successfully striven for improvements in the town and
12 had seen a significant growth in the business district,
13 especially during his time as mayor; he was elected as a
14 trustee in 1993, and then served as mayor pro tem from 1996
15 until his election as mayor in April 1997; and
16 WHEREAS, George Moll and his wife Vickie owned and
17 operated the Herrick Cafe, an 18-year-old business; he was a
18 member of the Herrick Baptist Church; past member of Herrick
19 Lions; past member and president of Herrick Jaycee's; and a
20 member of Herrick Community Association; and
21 WHEREAS, The passing of George Moll will be deeply felt
22 by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 37
23 years, Vickie; his sons, Tony (wife, Katie) Moll and Tom
24 Moll; his daughter, Tammy (husband, Sam) Heflin; his brother,
25 Jim Moll; his grandchildren, Claire, Grace, Bridget, Alex,
26 Kendra, and Zechariah; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
29 all who knew him, the death of George Moll of Herrick,
30 Illinois; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of George Moll.
