91_SR0435 LRB9114402ACfgA 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The Moraine Valley Community College Foundation 3 was established in 1982 to assist the College in meeting the 4 ever-expanding needs of the southwest suburbs; and 5 WHEREAS, The Moraine Valley Community College Foundation 6 was organized to benefit and promote the charitable, 7 scholastic, education, literacy, athletic, benevolent, civic, 8 research, and scientific functions of the College; and 9 WHEREAS, The Moraine Valley Community College Foundation 10 Board of Directors is comprised of 30 members and, along with 11 its staff, is dedicated to the educational and cultural 12 betterment of the community; and 13 WHEREAS, The Moraine Valley Community College Foundation 14 recognizes that introducing children to the educational, 15 cultural, and health-related opportunities available at the 16 College will help them develop into productive and 17 well-rounded members of the Community; and 18 WHEREAS, A healthy childhood and promising adulthood are 19 predicated on deeply rooted positive lifestyles learned 20 through interactive education; and 21 WHEREAS, The Moraine Valley Community College Foundation 22 believes in promoting good health and safety for children by 23 providing the community with comprehensive information; and 24 WHEREAS, We proclaim September 30, 2000 as Children's 25 Cultural and Health Day; therefore, be it 26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we respectfully 28 request Governor George Ryan to proclaim September 30, 2000 29 as Children's Cultural and Health Day.
