91_SR0425 LRB9114467KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Finis Schultz, who recently passed away; and 5 WHEREAS, Finis Schultz was born in Jerseyville on 6 December 15, 1937; his parents were Wilson W. and Keota 7 Schultz; and 8 WHEREAS, Finis Schultz married Shirley Yemm on May 27, 9 1960; and 10 WHEREAS, Finis Schultz was a graduate of Jersey Community 11 High School; he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 12 mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois and 13 his Master's degree in business administration from Southern 14 Illinois University; and 15 WHEREAS, Finis Schultz first worked for Armco Steel in 16 Middletown, Ohio, then became a project engineer with Laclede 17 Steel in Alton; he then worked for Pfizer, Inc. in East St. 18 Louis, and later as vice president of operations at Energy 19 Coatings Co. in St. Louis; he then began a banking career, 20 starting as senior vice president at Union Bank in East St. 21 Louis, and was then selected to serve as president and chief 22 executive officer at Jersey State Bank, where he worked until 23 his death; and 24 WHEREAS, Finis Schultz served as a former councilman and 25 treasurer of Jerseyville; treasurer of the Jersey County Fair 26 Board, trustee of the Jersey County Historical Society and 27 Jerseyville Library Board, and he was the current president 28 of the Illinois Bankers Association; and 29 WHEREAS, Finis Schultz will be remembered by all that 30 knew and loved him, especially his wife, Shirley; his son and 31 daughter-in-law, Scott and Mary Beth Schultz; his daughter -2- LRB9114467KBkb 1 and son-in-law, Jennifer and Rick Kuehl; his grandchildren, 2 Mary Elizabeth and Scott Patrick; and his brother and 3 sister-in-law, W. Kay and Judy Schultz; therefore, be it 4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we extend our 6 sympathy to the family and friends of Finis Schultz; and be 7 it further 8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 9 presented to the family of Finis Schultz.
