1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Peter "Dink" DeKing, Jr., who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Peter DeKing, Jr. was born in Aurora, Illinois,
6 on October 10, 1913; and
7 WHEREAS, Peter DeKing, Jr. was a lifetime member of St.
8 Joseph Church; he was the owner and operator of DeKing's
9 Tavern for forty-four years; Peter DeKing, Jr. was a veteran
10 of World War II, serving in the United States Army; he was a
11 member of the V.F.W. in Batavia, the Wild Rose Club, and
12 Moose Lodge #682 in Batavia; and
13 WHEREAS, The passing of Peter DeKing, Jr. will be deeply
14 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
15 Christine; his son, Peter (Sheila); his grandchildren, Peter
16 IV, Andrea, and Carey; his sisters, Rose and Margaret; his
17 brother, James; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
19 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
20 all who knew him, the death of Peter DeKing, Jr. of North
21 Aurora, Illinois; and be it further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to the family of Peter DeKing, Jr.
