1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Bill Reid of Buffalo Grove, who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Bill Reid was a native of South Bend, Indiana
6 and a graduate of Indiana University; he and his family moved
7 to Buffalo Grove in 1961; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Reid has served as a history teacher,
9 counselor, district administrator, and assistant principal
10 throughout Northwest Suburban High School District 214; he
11 worked for thirty years before retiring; Mr. Reid helped in
12 the election of Verna Clayton to the office of village
13 president and three terms as State Representative; and
14 WHEREAS, Bill Reid was appointed to the village board in
15 1983, and worked on village commissions, helped with
16 community events, including Buffalo Grove Days; he also
17 served as an usher at Kingswood United Methodist Church,
18 where he and his wife were members; and
19 WHEREAS, The passing of Bill Reid will be deeply felt by
20 his wife of forty-seven years, Mary Jo; his children, Douglas
21 and Elizabeth; and his grandchildren, Sam and David;
22 therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
25 all that knew him, the death of Bill Reid of Buffalo Grove,
26 Illinois; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of Bill Reid.
