1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Frank Vacek of Willowbrook,
4 Illinois, who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Frank Vacek was born in Chicago and grew up in a
6 neighborhood near 26th Street and Central Park Avenue; he
7 moved to Downers Grove Township in 1949, near the community
8 of Hinsdale, until his move to Willowbrook two years ago; and
9 WHEREAS, Frank Vacek graduated from Hinsdale High School,
10 where he was a member of the swim team; he received his
11 Bachelor's degree in Business from Culver Stockton College;
12 he enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, basketball, and
13 swimming; and
14 WHEREAS, In 1947 Mr. Vacek joined his mother, aunt, and
15 uncle and opened the Country Kitchen Restaurant, a friendly
16 place known for hearty Bohemian food; after the restaurant
17 was sold in 1988 he went to work driving a school bus for
18 Laidlaw School Bus Service; he drove the bus for the next ten
19 years, and discovered a love for the kindergarten children;
20 and
21 WHEREAS, The passing of Frank Vacek will be felt by all
22 that knew him, especially his loving wife, Harriette; his
23 sons, Frank, Jeff, James, Scott, and John; his daughter,
24 Elizabeth Campbell; his eleven grandchildren; and his
25 brother, Anthony; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
28 all that knew him, the death of Frank Vacek; and be it
29 further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to Mrs. Frank Vacek.
