Milligan of Decatur, Illinois, passed 3 away on March 28, 2000; and 4 WHEREAS, Craig Milligan was born in Decatur on May 4, 5 1951, the son of Herbert E. and Barbara J. Ott Milligan; he 6 married Sarah Shade on December 22, 1979; and 7 WHEREAS, Craig Milligan was the regional superintendent 8 for Macon-Piatt schools; he received his B.S. at Illinois 9 State University, and his Ed.S. and M.S. at Eastern Illinois 10 University; and 11 WHEREAS, Craig Milligan was a member of First Lutheran 12 Church; he was a member of Phi Delta Kappa Educational 13 Fraternity; he was a trainer for Illinois Administrators 14 Academy with the State Board of Education, "Linking Staff 15 Development to Teacher Observation"; he was the chairperson 16 of SASI Illinois Users Group for Central and Southern 17 Illinois; and he was the president of the Macon County 18 Elementary Principals Association; and 19 WHEREAS, He was a presenter of teacher in-service 20 workshops throughout Central Illinois, presenting topics of 21 teacher observation, staff development, and classroom 22 management; he was the chairperson of personnel and Growth 23 Division for First Lutheran Church; he was the committee 24 chairperson of swim meets for the Decatur Swim Club; he was a 25 volunteer for local and State events for Special Olympics; he 26 was a member of the National Association of Secondary School 27 Principals, and he was a member of the Rotary Club of 28 Decatur; and 29 WHEREAS, Craig Milligan was summer school coordinator at 30 the Area Vocational Center in Decatur from 1982 to 1985, and 31 assistant principal at Johns Hill Middle School in Decatur -2- LRB9113702KBkb 1 from 1980 to 1985; he was principal at Warrensburg-Latham 2 Middle School from 1985 to 1990; and he was principal at 3 Warrensburg-Latham Elementary/Middle School from 1990 to 4 1998; and 5 WHEREAS, We extend our sympathies to family and friends 6 of Craig Milligan, especially his loving wife, Sarah; his 7 mother, Barbara Milligan; his son, Todd; his daughter, 8 Courtney; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William P. and 9 Barbara Shade II; his brothers-in-law, William P. Shade III, 10 wife Susan and their family, Thomas Shade, wife Jane and 11 their family, and Jeffrey Shade and wife Molly; therefore, be 12 it 13 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 14 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we again extend our 15 sincere condolences to all that knew and loved Craig E. 16 Milligan of Decatur; and be it further 17 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 18 presented to the family of Craig E. Milligan.
