91_SR0324 LRB9113610KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Abraham Lincoln portrayer Harry Hahn entertained 3 and amazed crowds for years with his resemblance to our 16th 4 President; and 5 WHEREAS, Harry Hahn, a resident of Mount Pulaski, passed 6 away on February 10, 2000, two days before President 7 Lincoln's celebrated birthday; and 8 WHEREAS, Harry Hahn was well known throughout central 9 Illinois, where he appeared in parades, school events, and 10 social gatherings; in 1981 he won an Abraham Lincoln 11 look-alike contest in Springfield as well as one in 12 Hodginville, Kentucky; and 13 WHEREAS, Mr. Hahn's visage graces the interior of 14 "Heroes, Honchos, and Humdingers," a book by Illinois State 15 Journal Register columnist Toby McDaniel; he also appears in 16 "Moments in Time," a book by The Associated Press; and 17 WHEREAS, Harry Hahn was born in Mount Pulaski on April 18 14, 1934; his parents were Boyd and Clara Deavers Hahn; on 19 January 28, 1955 he married Donna Olmstead; and 20 WHEREAS, Harry Hahn is survived by his wife, Donna; his 21 daughters, Annette Blaum and Teresa Hahn; his son, Steve 22 Hahn; his brothers, Herschel Hahn and Boyd Hahn, Jr.; his 23 sisters, Doris Faith, Lois Bryne, and Leota Lamar; his eleven 24 grandchildren; and his two great-grandchildren; therefore, be 25 it 26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 28 all that knew and admired him, the death of Harry Hahn; 29 through his example we saw the person of Abraham Lincoln come 30 alive again; and be it further -2- LRB9113610KBkb 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to the family of Harry Hahn.
