1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 convey their sincere condolences to the family and friends of
4 Vera L. Price of Gillespie, Illinois, who recently passed
5 away; and
6 WHEREAS, Vera Price was born in Alton, Illinois, on
7 September 15, 1921; her parents were Charles O. and Josephine
8 L. Stouffe Cairns; in 1940 she married Vern "Si" Price in St.
9 Charles, Missouri; and
10 WHEREAS, Vera Price was a homemaker and a cook at the
11 Barn Restaurant, located west of Gillespie; she was a member
12 of VFW Post 4547 Ladies Auxiliary of Gillespie and Gold Star
13 Mothers; and
14 WHEREAS, Vera Price is survived by her sons, Charles
15 (Cindy) Price, Mike (Sally) Price, and Steve Price; her
16 daughters, Judy (Ollie) Schwallenstecker, and Betty (David)
17 Craddick; her 19 grandchildren; her 18 great-grandchildren;
18 her two brothers, Robert Cairns and Jerry Cairns; and her
19 sisters, Helen Jones and Betty Tonsor; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
21 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
22 all that knew her, the death of Vera L. Price; and be it
23 further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the family of Vera L. Price.
