91_SR0285 LRB9113298CBcb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn 3 of the death of Mrs. Ruth Virginia Pradel of Naperville on 4 Friday, January 28, 2000; and 5 WHEREAS, She was born on September 14, 1914 in North 6 Burick, Maine; her family later moved to Chicago, where she 7 met German-born Arthur Pradel; the two were married shortly 8 thereafter; and 9 WHEREAS, They moved to Naperville in 1940 and helped to 10 establish Central Baptist Church in 1944; Virginia Pradel 11 served the church as a Sunday School teacher, pianist, 12 secretary, deaconess, and Awana Leader; and 13 WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley 14 N. and Ruth Ada Kenee Spitler; her husband, Arthur Paul 15 Pradel; her sisters, Mary Voigt, Faith Boersma, and Edith 16 Pederson; and her brothers, Keene, Clyde, and George Spitler; 17 and 18 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by her family 19 and friends, especially her sons and daughters-in-law, Mayor 20 of Naperville, George Pradel and his spouse Patricia, Jack 21 and Virginia Pradel, and Paul and Sue Pradel; her daughters 22 and sons-in-law, Ruth and Amon Hill, Grace and Rev. John 23 Wendel, and Charlotte and Guy Fraley; her brother and 24 sister-in-law, Fred and Lillian Spitler; her sister and 25 brother-in-law, Helen and Rev. Tom Allen; her twenty 26 grandchildren; and her twenty-nine great-grandchildren; 27 therefore, be it 28 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow 30 and regret the death of Ruth Virginia Pradel and extend our 31 sincere condolences to her family and friends; and be it -2- LRB9113298CBcb 1 further 2 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 3 presented to the family of Ruth Virginia Pradel.
