91_SR0283 LRB9113271KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 extend their sincere condolences to the family and friends of 4 Bernadine A. Nichelson, who recently passed away; and 5 WHEREAS, Bernadine A. Nichelson was born in Virden, 6 Illinois, on July 8, 1918; her parents were Leonard D. Moore 7 and Sadie J. Broderick Moore; in 1945 she married Glenn E. 8 "Nick" Nichelson in Virden; and 9 WHEREAS, Bernadine A. Nichelson was a 1936 graduate of 10 Virden High School; she went on to earn a degree at Eastern 11 Illinois University; and 12 WHEREAS, Bernadine A. Nichelson was a kindergarten 13 teacher in Virden for many years; she worked at the 14 ammunitions plant in Illiopolis during World War II; for many 15 years she worked for the State of Illinois, including 12 16 years employed as a driver's license examiner; and 17 WHEREAS, Bernadine A. Nichelson was a member of St. 18 Patrick's Catholic Church in Girard and served on the Altar 19 and Rosary Society; she was a member of the Macoupin County 20 Democratic Women, and served as a precinct committeewoman for 21 many years; and 22 WHEREAS, Bernadine A. Nichelson is survived by her 23 husband, Glenn Nichelson; her son, Kevin L. Nichelson; her 24 sister, Dorothy (John) Bellm; and many nieces and nephews; 25 therefore, be it 26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we extend our 28 sympathies to all that knew Bernadine A. Nichelson; may they 29 find peace and solace at this time; and be it further 30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be -2- LRB9113271KBkb 1 presented to the family of Bernadine A. Nichelson.
