1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the passing of Hubert Lewis Jones of Grafton,
4 Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Hubert Lewis Jones was born in Springfield,
6 Missouri, on December 2, 1926; his parents were Hubert and
7 Edna Dillon Jones; and
8 WHEREAS, Hubert Lewis Jones grew up and attended high
9 school in South St. Louis; he attended college at Southern
10 Illinois University in Edwardsville; in World War II he
11 served with the United States Army during the occupation of
12 Japan; and
13 WHEREAS, Upon his move to Grafton, Illinois, Hubert Lewis
14 Jones became part owner of the Grafton Boat Works; On
15 November 25, 1959 he opened the Discount House in
16 Jerseyville; and
17 WHEREAS, Hubert Lewis Jones and Betty Elizabeth Edwards
18 were married on June 12, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri; and
19 WHEREAS, Hubert Lewis Jones is survived by his daughter,
20 Nancy (Paul) Jones; his sons, John (Mary) Jones, Robert (Kim)
21 Jones, and James (Sherrie) Jones; his grandchildren, Scott
22 and JaCinda Jones, Shannon Jones, Stacey Jones, Stephanie
23 Jones, DeAnna and Marty Heitzig, Jay Jones, Brandon and
24 Blaine Jones, and Leah Jones; his four great-grandchildren,
25 Garrett Jones, Sydney Jones, Christopher McGiffen, and
26 Haleigh Jones; and his sister, Betty Isaacs; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
29 all who knew and loved him, the death of Hubert Lewis Jones;
30 and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Hubert Lewis Jones, along with our
3 sincere regards.
