91_SR0169 LRB9107491CBcb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn 3 of the death of John "Jay" E. Scanlan, Jr., of Aurora on 4 Tuesday, May 11, 1999 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital in 5 Aurora; and 6 WHEREAS, He was born in Aurora on April 1, 1961, the son 7 of John and Eileen Schweisthal Scanlan; he graduated from 8 Marmion Military Academy and Southern Illinois University; 9 and 10 WHEREAS, He was a member of Holy Angels Church in Aurora 11 and was President of Acorn Plastics in Montgomery; and 12 WHEREAS, A loving husband and father, he enjoyed being 13 with his family, coaching his children in soccer and 14 baseball, and playing golf and bowling; and 15 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family 16 and friends, especially his wife, Libby; his children, 17 Nicholas, Maggie, Jack, and Brendan; his mother, Eileen; his 18 sisters, Kathy Cortelyou and Shari Bartch; his 19 brother-in-law, Bob Cortelyou; and his nieces and nephews, 20 Annie Schmelzer, Jordan Ruddy, Audrey Ruddy, Rebecca 21 Rattleman, and Will Rattleman; therefore, be it 22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sadness 24 and regret the death of John E. Scanlan, Jr., and extend our 25 deepest condolences to his family and friends; and be it 26 further 27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 28 presented to his widow, Libby Scanlan.
