1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Carl E. "Corky" Gimlin of Standard City on
4 Monday, May 17, 1999; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born in Atwater on March 19, 1924, the
6 son of Enis Edmond and Ethel Davis Gimlin; he was preceded in
7 death by a son, Ed; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Gimlin was employed with the Illinois
9 Department of Transportation for eighteen years, having
10 retired in 1989; and
11 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
12 and friends, especially his daughters, Mary Curry, Carolyn
13 Gimlin, and Michelle Pocklington; his son, Carl W. Gimlin;
14 several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his
15 companion, Frances Presswood; therefore, be it
16 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
17 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
18 and regret the death of Carl E. Gimlin and extend our sincere
19 condolences to his family and friends; and be it further
20 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
21 presented to the family of Carl E. Gimlin.
