91_SR0095 LRB9106620KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 extend their sincerest sympathies to the family and friends 4 of David H. Everson, who recently passed away; and 5 WHEREAS, David H. Everson was born in Rochester, 6 Minnesota on September 2, 1941; his parents were Ralph Howard 7 and Margaret Foelster Everson; in 1964 he married Judith 8 Eleanor; and 9 WHEREAS, David H. Everson was a 1963 graduate of Indiana 10 State University, where he received his Master's Degree in 11 1964 and his Ph.D. in 1969; Mr. Everson taught political 12 science at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale from 13 1967 to 1970; and 14 WHEREAS, David H. Everson went on to become a part of the 15 founding faculty members at Sangamon State University, now 16 the University of Illinois in Springfield; he first served as 17 a professor of political science and later as an associate 18 chancellor; from 1979 to 1983 he directed the Legislative 19 Studies Center; and 20 WHEREAS, David H. Everson published three scholarly 21 books, "An Introduction to Systematic Political Science", 22 "American Political Parties", and "Public Opinion and 23 Interest Groups in American Politics"; he also published six 24 detective novels and two mystery stories; and 25 WHEREAS, David H. Everson was a member of the American 26 Political Science Association, and Mystery Writers of 27 America; and 28 WHEREAS, David H. Everson is survived by his wife, 29 Judith; his son Christopher and his wife, Anne; his mother, 30 Margaret; his sister, Karen Stone; two aunts, two nieces, and 31 a cousin; therefore, be it -2- LRB9106620KBkb 1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 3 all who knew him, the death of David H. Everson of 4 Springfield, Illinois; may there be a sense of peace in this 5 time of loss, both for the family and the friends, of this 6 man; and be it further 7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 8 presented to the family of David H. Everson.
