91_SR0091 LRB9106517CBcbC 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the youth of 3 Illinois to be aware of the importance of proper health and 4 hygiene practices and the wide spectrum of the medical and 5 health-related professions; and 6 WHEREAS, Efforts should be taken to provide a forum 7 through which health practices can be presented in a 8 culturally entertaining, educational, and age-appropriate 9 manner; and 10 WHEREAS, Programs and exhibits can be tailored to inform 11 Illinois' youth on health related issues, such as, ways to 12 make hospital stays less frightening and other topics related 13 to the world of medicine; and 14 WHEREAS, Community health organizations, hospitals, and 15 medical professionals are encouraged to participate in this 16 state-wide effort that will serve to heighten awareness and 17 provide a children's cultural and health exchange; and 18 WHEREAS, On Sunday, September 25, 1999, the Moraine 19 Valley Community College Foundation and Hope Children's 20 Hospital will host the 2nd Annual Kids' Expo: A Children's 21 Fair of Culture and Health in the gym and Fine and Performing 22 Arts Center on the Moraine Valley campus; and 23 WHEREAS, We proclaim Sunday, September 25, 1999, as 24 Children's Cultural and Health Day; therefore, be it 25 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we respectfully 27 request Governor George Ryan to proclaim Sunday, September 28 25, 1999, as Children's Cultural and Health Day.
