1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Ira Bowles, Jr. of Livingston on Saturday,
4 March 6, 1999; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born in Worden on June 15, 1925, the son
6 of the late Ira and Anna Augustine Bowles; and
7 WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Navy
8 during World War II, where he served as a pharmacist's mate;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, He was a retired schoolteacher, having taught
11 for 36 years in the Livingston and Triad school districts;
12 after his retirement from teaching, he worked in the Madison
13 County Clerk's Office in the voters' registration office; and
14 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
15 and friends, especially his sister, Senator Evelyn Bowles,
16 and several cousins; therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
18 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
19 and regret the death of Ira Bowles, Jr. and extend our
20 sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be it
21 further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to Senator Evelyn Bowles.
