1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 extend their sincere sympathies to the family and friends of
4 Steven M. Sheffer, who passed away January 4, 1999; and
5 WHEREAS, Steven Sheffer was born on August 26, 1957, in
6 Aurora, Illinois; he was the son of Marilyn Wilson and Jim
7 Sheffer; his father preceded him in death, as well as an
8 infant sister; and
9 WHEREAS, Steven Sheffer was a graduate of West Aurora
10 High School and a 1984 graduate of the University of
11 Illinois, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical
12 Engineering; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Sheffer was a facility engineer for West
14 Hudson Hospital in Kearny, New Jersey for six years where his
15 coworkers noted that he had a great sense of humor and always
16 tried to help out in any way; he was a member of the American
17 Society of Hospital Engineers; he was a member of Clinton
18 Baptist Church, where he sang bass in the church choir and
19 participated in the national Promise Keepers organization; he
20 and his wife also performed in an acapella choir that sang to
21 local nursing homes and community events; and
22 WHEREAS, Steven Sheffer and his wife, Amy, met at the
23 Clinton Baptist Church and were married in 1988;
24 understanding people in need, they traveled to India on a
25 two-week mission; Steven, having a mechanical mind, was
26 always quick to help fix things around the house; and
27 WHEREAS, Steven Sheffer is survived by his wife, Amy
28 Sheffer; his parents, Marilyn (Wilson/Sheffer) and Frank
29 Granzeier, and Frances (Martin/Kuntzelman) Sheffer; his
30 grandparents, Rozel Henn and Fern Wilson; his brothers, Sarr
31 Sheffer, Stewart Sheffer, David Granzeier, John Granzeier,

1 Scott Kuntzelman, and Stuart Kuntzelman; his sisters,
2 Sherilyn Sheffer-Vicari, Sarana (Sheffer) Rogers, and Tara
3 (Granzeier) Quade; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and
4 cousins ; therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7 his family and friends, the death of Steven Sheffer; may they
8 find peace and comfort in this time of need; and be it
9 further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Steven Sheffer.
