91_SR0047 LRB9106060KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 3 to learn of the death of Philip A. Leekley of Wilmette, 4 Illinois, who passed away on February 11, 1999; and 5 WHEREAS, Philip Leekley was a North Shore Real Estate 6 Broker for over 25 years; he served as President of North 7 Shore Board of Realtors in 1980 and was named Realtor of the 8 Year in 1985; he was a past Director and Chairman of the 9 Legislative Commission for the Illinois Association of 10 Realtors; and he served as the Federal District Coordinator 11 for District #10 with the National Association of Realtors; 12 and 13 WHEREAS, Philip Leekley was a past Director and President 14 of the Wilmette United Way; he was a past President of the 15 Kiwanis Club; he served two years on the District 39 School 16 Caucus Board; he was the Director of the Wilmette Chamber of 17 Commerce for two years; he was a member and usher captain for 18 the Kenilworth Union Church; and he served as a Cook County 19 Deputy for voter registration and also as a precinct captain; 20 and 21 WHEREAS, Philip Leekley was active with the Boy Scouts of 22 America for over 50 years, and was awarded with their highest 23 honor, The Silver Beaver; and 24 WHEREAS, Philip Leekley was a veteran of World War II, 25 where he served with the United States Navy; and 26 WHEREAS, Philip Leekley is survived by his wife, Marcia 27 Thompson Leekley; his children, Philip Leekley Jr., Gina 28 (Shawn) McCarthy, John Leekley, Richard H. (Amy) Thompson 29 III, and Kristen Thompson (Bruce) Daley;and his 30 grandchildren, Shannon McCarthy, Richard and Jennifer 31 Thompson, and James and Brooke Daley; therefore, be it -2- LRB9106060KBkb 1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we extend our sincere 3 sympathies to the family and friends of Philip Leekley of 4 Wilmette, Illinois; in this time of need, may they find peace 5 and solace; and be it further 6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 7 presented to the family of Philip Leekley.
