91_SR0038 LRB9105828CBcb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn 3 of the death of Kansen "Kandi" Lee of Chicago on Monday, 4 February 15, 1999; and 5 WHEREAS, She was born on May 14, 1948, the daughter of 6 Larnell and the late Eula Green; she attended Thornton 7 Township High School and Thornton Community College, where 8 she received numerous certificates and awards; and 9 WHEREAS, She was united in marriage to Joseph Napoleon 10 Lee, Sr., in 1964; he preceded her in death; and 11 WHEREAS, She was active in government; she was an 12 employee of the 6th Municipal District Court; and 13 WHEREAS, She was active in her sons' lives as a member of 14 the PTA, Little League, Boy Scouts of America, and the Harvey 15 Colts Football Booster Club; she was also affiliated with the 16 South Suburban Ministers Conference; her civic involvement 17 included pioneering many successful campaigns throughout the 18 Chicago Metropolitan area; and 19 WHEREAS, She was an active member of the Solid Rock 20 Foundation Church, under the leadership of her son, Reverend 21 Joseph N. Lee, Jr.; and 22 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by her family 23 and friends, especially her sons, Reverend Joseph N. Lee, Jr. 24 and Rory Lee; her father, Larnell Green; her sisters, Bonnie 25 Wince-Robinson, Lynette Jackson, Sheila Green-Shaw, Adrienne 26 Veal, Penny LaShaun Green, and Melissa Green; her 27 grandchildren, Jessica, Victoria, and Joseph; her aunts, 28 Pearlie M. Cash, Beatrice Green, and Peasie Berry; her 29 nephews, Nicholas, Brandon, Darion, and Sterling; her nieces, 30 Charmaine, LaToya, LaRhonda, Kristen, Brittany, and Tiffany; 31 her great-nephews, Ronnie and Kaylan; her Godchildren, -2- LRB9105828CBcb 1 Levester, Rodney, Trentheo, and Tyreanna; a special sister, 2 Luz Empederado; a special brother, Harry W. Jones, Jr.; and 3 her special friends, Hattie Ambers and Deborah Simmons; 4 therefore, be it 5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow 7 and regret the death of Kansen Lee and extend our sincere 8 condolences to her family and friends; and be it further 9 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 10 presented to the sons of Kansen Lee.
