1 AN ACT concerning legal holidays.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Open Meetings Act is amended by changing
5 Section 2.01 as follows:
6 (5 ILCS 120/2.01) (from Ch. 102, par. 42.01)
7 Sec. 2.01. All meetings required by this Act to be public
8 shall be held at specified times and places which are
9 convenient and open to the public. No meeting required by
10 this Act to be public shall be held on a legal holiday unless
11 the regular meeting day falls on that holiday. When the
12 public body gives notice of the schedule of regular meetings
13 under Section 2.02 of this Act, the public body must include
14 with the notice a list of legal holidays observed by the
15 public body.
16 For the purposes of this Act and unless a public body
17 adopts, by ordinance or resolution, a different calendar of
18 holidays, legal holidays shall be the same as legal holidays
19 on which a bank may close under subsection (a) of Section 17
20 of the Promissory Note and Bank Holiday Act.
