1 AN ACT making appropriations and reappropriations.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The sum of $673,530,600, or so much thereof
5 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
6 Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois
7 for any expenditures or purposes authorized by law, including
8 payment to the University for personal services and related
9 costs incurred, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2001.
10 Section 10. The sum of $79,310,100, or so much thereof
11 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Education
12 Assistance Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of
13 Illinois for any expenditures or purposes authorized by law,
14 including payment to the University for personal services and
15 related costs incurred, for the fiscal year ending June 30,
16 2001.
17 Section 15. The sum of $994,100, or so much thereof as
18 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Fire Prevention
19 Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois
20 for the purpose of maintaining the Illinois Fire Service
21 Institute and paying the expenses and providing the
22 facilities and structures incident thereto, including payment
23 to the University for personal services and related costs
24 incurred during the fiscal year.
25 Section 20. The sum of $290,000, or so much thereof as
26 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Real Estate
27 Research and Education Fund to the Board of Trustees of the
28 University of Illinois for the ordinary and contingent
29 expenses, including scholarships and payment to the

1 University for personal services and related costs incurred
2 during the fiscal year, of the Office of Real Estate
3 Research.
4 Section 25. The sum of $150,000, or so much thereof as
5 may be necessary, is appropriated from the State College and
6 University Trust Fund to the Board of Trustees of the
7 University of Illinois for scholarship grant awards, in
8 accordance with Public Act 91-83.
9 Section 30. The sum of $1,299,000, or so much thereof as
10 may be necessary and remains unexpended on June 30, 2000,
11 from an appropriation heretofore made for such purpose in
12 Article 7, Section 60 of Public Act 88-551, is reappropriated
13 from the Capital Development Fund to the Board of Trustees of
14 the University of Illinois to acquire and develop land for
15 expansion of the Chicago campus, including demolition,
16 landscaping and site improvements, planning, construction,
17 remodeling, extension and modification of campus utility
18 systems, and such other expenses as may be necessary to
19 construct a public safety and transportation facility and to
20 develop student recreational areas.
21 Section 35. The sum of $6,924,300, or so much thereof as
22 may be necessary and remains unexpended on June 30, 2000,
23 from an appropriation heretofore made for such purpose in
24 Article 23, Section 35 of Public Act 90-585, is
25 reappropriated from the Capital Development Fund to the Board
26 of Trustees of the University of Illinois to plan for all
27 aspects of construction and to acquire and develop land,
28 including demolition, landscaping, site improvements,
29 extension and modification of campus utility systems,
30 relocation of programs, and such other expenses as may be
31 necessary to construct a College of Medicine building in

1 Chicago.
2 Section 40. The sum of $68,000,000, or so much thereof
3 as may be necessary and remains unexpended on June 30, 2000,
4 from an appropriation heretofore made for such purpose in
5 Article 10, Section 35 of Public Act 91-8, is reappropriated
6 from the Capital Development Fund to the Board of Trustees of
7 the University of Illinois to construct an education and
8 research facility for the College of Medicine in Chicago,
9 including planning, land acquisition, demolition,
10 construction, remodeling, landscaping, site improvements,
11 equipment, extension or modification of campus utility
12 systems, relocation of programs and such expenses as may be
13 necessary to complete the facility.
14 Section 45. The sum of $814,444, or so much thereof as
15 may be necessary and remains unexpended on June 30, 2000,
16 from an appropriation heretofore made for such purpose in
17 Article 10, Section 55 of Public Act 91-8, is reappropriated
18 from the Capital Development Fund to the University of
19 Illinois for digitalization infrastructure for WILL-TV
20 (Urbana-Champaign).
21 Section 50. The sum of $814,444, or so much thereof as
22 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Capital
23 Development Fund to the University of Illinois for
24 digitalization infrastructure for WILL-TV (Urbana-Champaign).
25 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on
26 July 1, 2000.
