 1        AN ACT to amend the Military Code of Illinois by changing
 2    Section 25.

 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section  5.   The Military Code of Illinois is amended by
 6    changing Section 25 as follows:

 7        (20 ILCS 1805/25) (from Ch. 129, par. 220.25)
 8        Sec. 25.  The Adjutant General shall have charge  of  and
 9    carefully  preserve  the  colors, flags, guidons and military
10    trophies of war belonging to the  State.  He  may,  with  the
11    written  approval  of  the  Governor  and  for the purpose of
12    enabling wider public display, make loans of these  items  to
13    the  Federal  government,  other  State  governments,  and to
14    recognized museums. He shall furnish, at the expense  of  the
15    State,  blanks  and  forms, and such military publications as
16    required.
17        Prior to September 1 of each year, or at such other  time
18    as  prescribed  by  the  Governor, the Adjutant General shall
19    file with the Office of the Governor a  report  listing  each
20    item  loaned during the previous fiscal year and prior fiscal
21    years, the terms and conditions of each loan, and the federal
22    or State governmental office or recognized  museum  to  which
23    each item has been loaned.

25        Section  99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect upon
26    becoming law.
