1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Public Aid Code by adding
2 Section 5-23.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
6 adding Section 5-23 as follows:
7 (305 ILCS 5/5-23 new)
8 Sec. 5-23. Personal needs allowance. The minimum monthly
9 personal needs allowance, as authorized under Section 1902(q)
10 of Title XIX of the Social Security Act, for a person who is
11 an inpatient in an institution or facility for which payments
12 are made under this Article throughout a month, and who is
13 determined to be eligible for medical assistance under this
14 Article, is $75.
15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16 becoming law.
