1 AN ACT in relation to hypodermic syringes and needles.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Hypodermic Syringe and Needle Disposal Act.
6 Section 5. Definition. In this Act, "public restroom"
7 means a restroom located in a building owned or occupied by
8 the State, a unit of local government, or a school district.
9 Section 10. Every public restroom must have a container
10 for the disposal of used hypodermic syringes and needles that
11 is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.
12 Section 90. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding
13 Section 8.24 as follows:
14 (30 ILCS 805/8.24 new)
15 Sec. 8.24. Exempt mandate. Notwithstanding Sections 6 and
16 8 of this Act, no reimbursement by the State is required for
17 the implementation of any mandate created by this amendatory
18 Act of the 91st General Assembly.
