Amend Senate Bill 1550 on page 1, by 3 replacing lines 1 and 2 with the following: 4 "AN ACT to amend the Liquor Control Act of 1934 by 5 changing Sections 6-15 and 7-8."; and 6 on page 1, by replacing lines 5 and 6 with the following: 7 "Section 5. The Liquor Control Act of 1934 is amended by 8 changing Sections 6-15 and 7-8 as follows:"; and 9 on page 13, after line 22, by inserting the following: 10 "(235 ILCS 5/7-8) (from Ch. 43, par. 152) 11 Sec. 7-8. For each city, village or incorporated town 12 having a population of 500,000 or more inhabitants, there is 13 established a license appeal commission consisting of the 14 chairman of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, the most 15 senior member of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission who 16 is not of the same political party as the chairman, and one 17 person who is a resident of the particular city, village or 18 incorporated town selected by the council or president and 19 board of trustees, as the case may be, who shall serve for a 20 term of 4 years and until his successor is selected and takes -2- LRB911444LDpram02 1 office. Neither the mayor, president of the board of 2 trustees, nor any member of the council or board of trustees 3 shall be eligible for membership on a license appeal 4 commission. Each of the 2 members of the Illinois Liquor 5 Control Commission shall receive a $200$100per diem for 6 their work on the license appeal commission, and the other 7 member shall receive an annual salary which shall be paid by 8 the particular city, village or incorporated town. The 9 secretary of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission shall be 10 ex-officio the secretary for each license appeal commission. 11 (Source: P.A. 84-1282.)".
