1 AN ACT to amend the Open Meetings Act by adding Section
2 4.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Open Meetings Act is amended by adding
6 Section 4.5 as follows:
7 (5 ILCS 120/4.5 new)
8 Sec. 4.5. Internet postings. In addition to the other
9 means of posting required by this Act, a public body of the
10 State government that maintains an official web site on the
11 World Wide Web must post its notices, schedules, and agendas
12 of meetings on that official web site.
13 A public body subject to this Section must include its
14 World Wide Web site address on all written notices,
15 schedules, and agendas of meetings required by this Act.
16 Nothing in this Section requires a public body to
17 establish or maintain an official World Wide Web site.
18 As used in this Section, a public body of the State
19 government means a public body of the executive branch of
20 State government under the control of the Governor.
21 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
22 becoming law.
