1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1447
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1447 on page 1,
3 line 2, after "14-8.02" by inserting "and adding Section
4 21-28"; and
5 on page 1, line 6, after "14-8.02", by inserting "and adding
6 Section 21-28"; and
7 on page 14, immediately below line 24, by inserting the
8 following:
9 "(105 ILCS 5/21-28 new)
10 Sec. 21-28. Special education teachers; categorical
11 certification. Special education teachers shall be
12 categorically certified, so that in order to teach students
13 with a specific disability, a special education teacher must
14 be certified for that specific disability category. The
15 State Board of Education may not require any other type of
16 certification relating to more than one disability
17 category.".
