1 AN ACT concerning medical facility licensing standards.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Nursing Home Care Act is amended by
5 adding Section 3-202.6 as follows:
6 (210 ILCS 45/3-202.6 new)
7 Sec. 3-202.6. Domestic violence. A facility licensed
8 under this Act must comply with the standards relating to
9 domestic violence established by the Joint Committee on
10 Accreditation or other accrediting organization approved by
11 the Department. Nothing in this Section requires a facility
12 to become accredited by the Joint Committee on Accreditation
13 or any other accreditation program.
14 Section 10. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by
15 adding Section 6.01 as follows:
16 (210 ILCS 85/6.01 new)
17 Sec. 6.01. Domestic violence. A hospital licensed under
18 this Act must comply with the standards relating to domestic
19 violence established by the Joint Committee on Accreditation
20 or other accrediting organization approved by the Department.
21 Nothing in this Section requires a hospital to become
22 accredited by the Joint Committee on Accreditation or any
23 other accreditation program.
