1 AN ACT to amend the Downstate Forest Preserve District
2 Act by changing Section 18.6d.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Downstate Forest Preserve District Act is
6 amended by changing Section 18.6d as follows:
7 (70 ILCS 805/18.6d)
8 Sec. 18.6d. All real property owned by a forest preserve
9 district that has located upon it an operating sanitary
10 landfill, pollution control facility, or new pollution
11 control facility, landfill gas recovery facility, or landfill
12 gas processing and disposal system shall be exempt from real
13 estate taxation under Section 15-150 of the Property Tax
14 Code. In addition, the operation or ownership of any
15 sanitary landfill, pollution control facility, or new
16 pollution control facility, landfill gas recovery facility,
17 or landfill gas processing and disposal system that is
18 located on land owned by a forest preserve district shall not
19 be subject, directly or indirectly, to any leasehold taxes
20 under Section 9-195 of the Property Tax Code.

23 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
24 becoming law.
