 1        AN ACT regarding appropriations.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  following  named amounts, or so much of
 5    those amounts as may  be  necessary,  respectively,  for  the
 6    objects  and  purposes  named,  are  appropriated to meet the
 7    ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of  the  State
 8    Appellate Defender:
 9        For Personal Services.......................   $6,074,400
10        For Employee Retirement Contributions
11             Paid by Employer.......................      242,800
12        For State Contribution to State Employees'
13             Retirement System......................      578,800
14        For State Contributions to Social Security..      446,100
15        For Contractual Services....................      957,300
16        For Travel..................................       49,200
17        For Commodities.............................       39,000
18        For Printing................................       29,100
19        For Equipment...............................      108,700
20        For Telecommunications......................      104,100
21        For Intern Program..........................            0
22             TOTAL..................................   $8,629,500

23        Section  10.  The  following named amounts, or so much of
24    those  amounts  as  may  be  necessary,   respectively,   are
25    appropriated  to  the  Office of the State Appellate Defender
26    for the ordinary  and  contingent  expenses  of  the  Capital
27    Litigation Division:
28        For Personal Services.......................    $ 658,200
29        For Employee Retirement Contributions
30             Paid by Employer.......................       26,300
31        For State Contribution to State Employees'

10        The  following named amounts, or so much of those amounts
11    as may  be  necessary,  respectively,  for  the  objects  and
12    purposes  named,  are appropriated to the Office of the State
13    Appellate Defender for expenses related to federally assisted
14    program to work on pending drug  and  violent  crime  appeals
15    cases  to  which  the  agency  is  appointed  and  to provide
16    statewide training to Illinois Public Defenders.
17        Payable from Federal Trust Fund.............     $510,000
18        For State matching purposes:
19             Payable from State Project Fund........      200,000
20        TOTAL                                            $710,000

21        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect  July
22    1, 1999.
