 1        AN ACT regarding appropriations.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 1.  The  following  named  amounts,  or  so  much
 5    thereof  as  may  be necessary, respectively, for the objects
 6    and purposes  hereinafter  named,  are  appropriated  to  the
 7    Illinois Medical District Commission:
 8    Payable from General Revenue Fund:
 9      For Personal Services......................... $    290,900
10      For Employee Retirement Contributions
11       Paid by Employer ............................       11,600
12      For State Contributions to the State
13       Employees' Retirement System ................       28,500
14      For State Contributions to
15       Social Security..............................       22,000
16      For Contractual Services .....................      260,000
17      For Operation of Chicago Technology
18       Park Research Center and for
19       Development and Operation of the
20       Chicago Technology Park within the
21       Medical Center District .....................      116,900
22        Total                                            $744,900

23        Section  2.  The  sum  of $162,800, or so much thereof as
24    may be necessary, is appropriated from  the  General  Revenue
25    Fund to the Illinois Medical District Commission for repairs,
26    maintenance,  and site improvements within the Medical Center
27    District, City of Chicago.

28        Section 3.  The sum of $5,000,000, or so much thereof  as
29    may   be   necessary,   is   appropriated  from  the  Capital
30    Development Fund to the Illinois Medical District  Commission

 1    for    acquisition   of   property,   demolition   and   site
 2    improvements, and related costs  within  the  Medical  Center
 3    District,   City   of   Chicago  for  Phase  IV  of  District
 4    Development Initiative.

 5        Section 4.  The sum of $300,000, or so  much  thereof  as
 6    may  be  necessary  and  remains  unexpended  at the close of
 7    business on June 30, 1999 from appropriations heretofore made
 8    in  Article  84,  Section  3  of  Public   Act   90-585,   is
 9    reappropriated  from  the  Capital  Development  Fund  to the
10    Illinois  Medical  District  Commission  for  acquisition  of
11    property, demolition and site improvements, and related costs
12    within the Medical Center District, City of Chicago for Phase
13    III of District Development Initiative.

14        Section  5.  No  contract  shall  be  entered   into   or
15    obligation  incurred for any expenditures from appropriations
16    in Sections 2, 3 and 4 of this Article until the purposes and
17    amounts have been approved in writing by the Governor.

18        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect  July
19    1, 1999.
