The following amounts, or so much thereof as 13 may be necessary for the objects and purposes hereinafter 14 named, are appropriated from the General Revenue Fund and the 15 Drug Traffic Prevention Fund to the Department of State 16 Police, Division of Operations, pursuant to the provisions of 17 the "Intergovernmental Drug Laws Enforcement Act" for Grants 18 to Metropolitan Enforcement Groups. 19 For Grants to Metropolitan 20 Enforcement Groups: 21 Payable from General Revenue Fund ............ $ 740,000 22 Payable from Drug Traffic Prevention Fund .... $ 500,000 23 Section 3B. In the event of the receipt of funds from 24 the Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Council, through a grant 25 from the Criminal Justice Information Authority, the amount 26 of $1,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is 27 appropriated from the State Police Motor Vehicle Theft 28 Prevention Trust Fund to the Department of State Police for 29 payment of expenses. 30 Section 3C. The sum of $350,000, or so much thereof as 31 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Gang Crime Witness SB605 Engrossed -5- BOB-DSP2000 1 Protection Fund to the Department of State Police for payment 2 of costs as outlined in the Gang Crime Witness Protection 3 Act. 4 Section 4. The sum of $3,500,000, or so much thereof as 16 may be necessary, is appropriated from the State Asset 17 Forfeiture Fund to the Department of State Police for payment 18 of their expenditures as outlined in the Illinois Drug Asset 19 Forfeiture Procedure Act, the Cannabis Control Act, the 20 Controlled Substances Act, and the Environmental Safety Act. 21 Section 8B. The sum of $2,500,000, or so much thereof as 22 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Federal Asset 23 Forfeiture Fund to the Department of State Police for payment 24 of their expenditures in accordance with the Federal 25 Equitable Sharing Guidelines. 26 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 27 1, 1999.
