91_SB0536eng SB536 Engrossed LRB9103746DHmg 1 AN ACT in relation to the establishment of a county 2 university center. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding 6 Section 5-1125 as follows: 7 (55 ILCS 5/5-1125 new) 8 Sec. 5-1125. Establishment of county university center. 9 Pursuant to a plan approved by the Illinois Board of Higher 10 Education, any county may make appropriations from the county 11 treasury and may transfer moneys to a not-for-profit 12 corporation recognized by the General Assembly pursuant to 13 Section 5 of the Higher Education Cooperation Act. The 14 moneys may be expended by the recognized not-for-profit 15 corporation for the purpose of facilitating the purchase of 16 land and the erection or renovation of buildings for a county 17 university center.
