91_SB0457enr SB457 Enrolled LRB9100612ACdvA 1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Plumbing License Law. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Illinois Plumbing License Law is amended 5 by adding Section 4 as follows: 6 (225 ILCS 320/4 new) 7 Sec. 4. Lawn sprinkler systems. 8 (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act or 9 of a local ordinance, until December 2, 1999, the 10 installation of lawn sprinkler systems, including any piping 11 2 inches or less in diameter and appurtenances, does not 12 require licensure under this Act or under local ordinance, 13 except that a licensed plumber or licensed apprentice plumber 14 (1) must install the backflow prevention device if the lawn 15 sprinkler is connected to a potable water system and (2) must 16 inspect every lawn sprinkler system installed by a person not 17 licensed under this Act. This Section is a limitation on 18 home rule units under Section 42, including home rule units 19 that are subject to Section 16. 20 (b) This Section is repealed on December 3, 1999. 21 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 22 becoming law.
