1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 353
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 353
3 on page 1, lines 8 and 9, by replacing "for detachment" with
4 "to detach previously annexed territory"; and
5 on page 3, by replacing lines 8 through 11 with the
6 following:
7 "Also in addition, within 24 months after the effective
8 date of this amendatory Act of the 91st General Assembly, the
9 legal voters residing within a hospital district may file a
10 petition for detachment from the hospital district where (i)
11 the territory sought to be detached was added to the hospital
12 district by way of annexation; and (ii) the equalized
13 assessed valuation of the territory sought to be detached
14 constitutes less than 20% of the equalized assessed valuation
15 of the hospital district. The petition must be signed by not
16 less than 5% of the legal voters of the territory sought to
17 be detached."; and
18 on page 3, line 12, by deleting "detached.".
