 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 202

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 202,  on  page  1,
 3    line 5, by changing "2, 3," to "3"; and

 4    on page 1, by deleting lines 6 through 31; and

 5    by deleting all of pages 2, 3, and 4; and

 6    on page 5, by deleting lines 1 through 14; and

 7    on  page  6,  by  replacing  lines  2  through  14  with  the
 8    following:
 9    "within 10 days after employment shall submit in person or in
10    writing  the  business  name  and  address where he or she is
11    employed.  Multiple businesses  or  work  locations  must  be
12    reported to the agency having jurisdiction.  The sex offender
13    must submit his or her"; and

14    on  page 8, by replacing lines 28 through 32 and by replacing
15    all of page 9 and on page 10, by replacing lines 1 and 2 with
16    the following:
17    "110 and 120 as follows:"; and

18    on page 10, by replacing lines 13 through 32 and by replacing
19    all of page 11 with the following:

 1        Sec. 120.  Community notification of sex offenders.
 2        (a)  The sheriff of the county, except Cook County, shall
 3    disclose to the following the name, address, date  of  birth,
 4    place  of  employment, and offense or adjudication of all sex
 5    offenders required to register under Section  3  of  the  Sex
 6    Offender Registration Act:
 7             (1)  (Blank);
 8             (2)  School  boards  of  public school districts and
 9        the principal or other appropriate administrative officer
10        of each nonpublic school located in the county where  the
11        sex  offender  is  required  to  register  or is employed
12        resides; and
13             (3)  Child care facilities  located  in  the  county
14        where  the  sex  offender  is  required to register or is
15        employed. resides;
16        (a-2)  The sheriff of Cook County shall disclose  to  the
17    following   the  name,  address,  date  of  birth,  place  of
18    employment, and offense or adjudication of all sex  offenders
19    required  to  register  under  Section  3 of the Sex Offender
20    Registration Act:
21             (1)  School boards of public  school  districts  and
22        the principal or other appropriate administrative officer
23        of  each  nonpublic  school  located within the region of
24        Cook  County,  as  those  public  school  districts   and
25        nonpublic schools are identified in LEADS, other than the
26        City  of  Chicago,  where the sex offender is required to
27        register or is employed resides; and
28             (2)  Child care facilities located within the region
29        of Cook  County,  as  those  child  care  facilities  are
30        identified  in  LEADS,  other  than  the City of Chicago,
31        where the sex offender is  required  to  register  or  is
32        employed resides.
33        (a-3)  The  Chicago  Police  Department shall disclose to
34    the following the name, address,  date  of  birth,  place  of

 1    employment,  and offense or adjudication of all sex offenders
 2    required to register under Section  3  of  the  Sex  Offender
 3    Registration Act:
 4             (1)  School  boards  of  public school districts and
 5        the principal or other appropriate administrative officer
 6        of each nonpublic school located in the  police  district
 7        where  the  sex  offender  is  required to register or is
 8        employed resides if the offender is required to  register
 9        or is employed resides in the City of Chicago; and
10             (2)  Child  care  facilities  located  in the police
11        district where the sex offender is required  to  register
12        or  is  employed  resides  if the offender is required to
13        register or is employed resides in the City of Chicago.
14        (a-4)  The Department of State  Police  shall  provide  a
15    list  of  sex  offenders required to register to the Illinois
16    Department of Children and Family Services.
17        (b)  The  Department  of  State  Police   and   any   law
18    enforcement  agency  having jurisdiction may disclose, in the
19    Department's   or   agency's   discretion,   the    following
20    information  to any person likely to encounter a sex offender
21    required to register under Section  3  of  the  Sex  Offender
22    Registration Act:
23             (1)  The  offender's  name,  address,  and  date  of
24        birth.
25             (2)  The   offense   for   which  the  offender  was
26        convicted.
27             (3)  Adjudication as a sexually dangerous person.
28             (4)  The  offender's  photograph   or   other   such
29        information that will help identify the sex offender.
30             (5)  Offender  employment  information,  to  protect
31        public safety.
32        (c)  The  name,  address,  date  of birth, and offense or
33    adjudication for sex offenders  required  to  register  under
34    Section  3 of the Sex Offender Registration Act shall be open

 1    to inspection by the public  as  provided  in  this  Section.
 2    Every municipal police department shall make available at its
 3    headquarters  the  information  on  all sex offenders who are
 4    required to  register  in  the  municipality  under  the  Sex
 5    Offender  Registration  Act.   The  sheriff  shall  also make
 6    available at his or her headquarters the information  on  all
 7    sex offenders who are required to register under that Act and
 8    who   live  in  unincorporated  areas  of  the  county.   The
 9    information shall be made  available  for  public  inspection
10    according  to  procedures  set  by the department or sheriff,
11    upon request of any person presented in writing,  in  person,
12    or  by  telephone.   The  law  enforcement  agency  may  make
13    available  the  information  on  all  sex  offenders residing
14    within the county.
