1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor Holy Family Medical
4 Center in Des Plaines as they celebrate 40 years of caring
5 and treating the needs of the community; and
6 WHEREAS, Holy Family Medical Center opened in 1961; it is
7 sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth; Holy
8 Family is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation
9 of Healthcare Organizations; and
10 WHEREAS, Holy Family Medical Center is committed to the
11 healing ministry of Jesus expressed in the Mission of the
12 Sisters; the facility is dedicated to serving the community
13 through quality health care provided by physicians and staff
14 using state-of-the-art medical technology; and
15 WHEREAS, Holy Family Medical Center is dedicated to the
16 community; blood pressure screenings, wellness programs, and
17 health fairs are a few of the ways that Holy Family gives
18 back to the community; and
19 WHEREAS, Services provided by Holy Family include
20 diabetes services, cardiology services, emergency services,
21 home care services, laboratory services, medical imaging
22 services, outpatient services, physical therapy, sleep
23 disorders center, substance abuse program, women's health and
24 maternity services, and many others; and
25 WHEREAS, Holy Family Medical Center recently opened Holy
26 Family's Breast Care, Osteoporosis & Continence Institute at
27 the Women's Health Center; services provided include
28 mammograms, biopsies, bone density scans, ultrasound, and
29 urodynamic studies; the Institute was designed by women for
30 women, emphasizing patient comfort and privacy; and
31 WHEREAS, Holy Family will open the Retina and Laser

1 Center in January of 2001; in March of 2001 Holy Family
2 Medical Center will celebrate its fortieth anniversary;
3 therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6 we congratulate Holy Family Medical Center on the opening of
7 the Retina and Laser Center and on the occasion of their
8 fortieth anniversary of service to the people of Des Plaines;
9 and be it further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the administration of Holy Family Medical
12 Center.
