1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Richard Sullivan of Wilmette, Illinois, will celebrate the
8 fiftieth anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Richard C. Sullivan and Mary Patricia Sullivan
10 were united in holy matrimony on October 7, 1950; and
11 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Rick, Tom, Tim,
12 Liz, Bill, Steve, Mike, Pete, and John; and the grandparents
13 of Kate, Stephanie, Charlotte, Michelle, Amy, Claire, Sandra,
14 Danny, Paige, Jill, and Maggie; and
15 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
16 highest plateaus when a couple such as Richard and Mary
17 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
18 WHEREAS, Richard and Mary stand as examples of the best
19 of our society, and their love and devotion to each other and
20 to their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that
21 hard work, dedication, and love can make a difference in
22 today's world; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we congratulate Richard and Mary Sullivan on the occasion of
26 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
27 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
28 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
29 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
30 further
