1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives
4 of citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that David Fields
6 will retire as Superintendent of Danville School District 118
7 on June 30, 2001; and
8 WHEREAS, David Fields has been with District 118 for
9 forty years; and
10 WHEREAS, His association with the Danville schools began
11 in 1941, when he began attending Jackson Elementary School;
12 his second grade classroom became his office in 1991 when he
13 was named superintendent; and
14 WHEREAS, David Fields is a 1953 graduate of Danville High
15 School and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University in
16 Charleston; in 1961 he returned to teach history in the
17 Danville schools; and
18 WHEREAS, There are several projects that Superintendent
19 Fields wants to see completed before his retirement,
20 including the construction of Southwest Elementary School in
21 Tilton; and
22 WHEREAS, After his retirement David Fields plans on
23 returning to education by returning to teaching; therefore,
24 be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we congratulate David Fields on a job well done; we wish him
28 the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to David Fields.
