91_HR0875 LRB9114901KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives were 3 saddened to learn of the death of Zella Newton of Chicago on 4 October 7, 2000, at the age of sixty-eight; and 5 WHEREAS, Zella Newton was born on August 20, 1932, in 6 Chicago, Illinois, to Mr. and Mrs. Ezel Little; and 7 WHEREAS, She worked at Illinois Bell Telephone Company 8 for many years; and 9 WHEREAS, On July 8, 1956, Zella Little was married to 10 John Newton, Sr., and to this union was born two sons and 11 four daughters; and 12 WHEREAS, Zella Newton accepted Christ at an early age; 13 she was a member of King of Glory Church of God in Christ; 14 and 15 WHEREAS, Zella Newton was loved by family and her many 16 friends; she was a productive, positive, citizen who was 17 committed to contributing life, love, and happiness to her 18 family and her community; therefore, be it 19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 20 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 21 we note with sorrow and regret the death of Zella Newton of 22 Chicago and that we extend our sincere sympathy to her family 23 and friends; and be it further 24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 25 presented to the family of Zella Newton.
