1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestones in the
4 lives of the people of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Kevin Bracken
6 has been selected for the 2000 United States Olympic
7 Wrestling Team; and
8 WHEREAS, Kevin Bracken was born in Chicago, Illinois on
9 October 29, 1971; he is a graduate of St. Lawrence High
10 School and Illinois State University; and
11 WHEREAS, In international competition Kevin Bracken's
12 outstanding wrestling skills have placed him seventh in the
13 2000 Olympic Qualifier, second in the 2000 Gramma Cup, second
14 in the Dave Schultz Memorial International, second in the
15 1999 Sunkist Kids International Open, and third in the 1999
16 Poland Open; and
17 WHEREAS, In United States competition, Kevin Bracken is
18 the 2000 U.S. National Champion, won second place in the
19 1998-99 U.S. Nationals, and was the 1999 NYAC Greco-Roman
20 champion; therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 we congratulate Kevin Bracken on becoming a member of the
24 2000 United States Olympic Wrestling Team; we congratulate
25 him on being the 2000 U.S. National Champion; and we thank
26 him for being an example to others; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to Kevin Bracken.
