91_HR0767 LRB9113832KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives 4 of Illinois citizens; and 5 WHEREAS, David S. McAdams of Zion, Illinois, will retire 6 on April 30, 2000, from his position as Chief of the Zion 7 Fire Rescue Department; and 8 WHEREAS, David McAdams became a firefighter for the Zion 9 Fire Rescue Department on April 10, 1973; he was promoted to 10 Sergeant on March 31, 1980, to Lieutenant on April 28, 1980, 11 to Captain on April 14, 1986, to Operations Officer on May 1, 12 1986, and to Chief on May 7, 1987; and 13 WHEREAS, David McAdams received his Bachelor's degree 14 from Southern Illinois University on May 15, 1993; and 15 WHEREAS, David McAdams was elected president of the 16 Northern Illinois Fire Chief's Association, he is a member of 17 Masonic Lodge #78, he is a 32-degree Scottish Rites member, 18 he is a member of the Shriner's Club, he is a member of the 19 International Fire Chief's Association, a member of the 20 National Fire Prevention Association, a member of the Dive 21 and Hazmat Team, a Certified State Safety Officer, and a 22 member of the Illinois Fire Chief's Association; and 23 WHEREAS, He has received many commendations and 24 certificates of appreciation for his hard work and devotion, 25 such as on November 2, 1983, when he rescued a 14 month old 26 baby during a house fire; and 27 WHEREAS, David McAdams will enjoy his retirement 28 surrounded by his family, especially his three daughters, 29 Marcie, Tammie, and Kellie, and his five grandchildren, 30 Justin, Courtney, Kristie, Dan, and Ryan; therefore, be it -2- LRB9113832KBkb 1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 2 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 3 we congratulate David S. McAdams on his retirement as Chief 4 of the Zion Fire Rescue Department on April 30, 2000; and be 5 it further 6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 7 presented to David S. McAdams.
